Character Translations, Inc. creates character costumes
from your existing artwork. If you do not have artwork available
for your desired character, artwork can be created for you.
Our characters are translated accurately from flat artwork,
3-D props and/or your product. Each stage must be approved
by the client before proceeding to the next stage. This
is done through e-mail, overnight mail and constant consultations
with our clientele.
We begin this process by working closely with the client
to determine desired aspects of the completed character costume
(i.e. height of character, visibility/comfort for performer,
fabric and color selections, and performance restrictions).
Once these points are determined, we help our clients decide
what is the best way to construct their custom character costume
(i.e. vacuumformed pieces, foam-sculpt, latex, etc.).
During the six to eight week construction period, Character
Translations, Inc. will create various mock-ups and approval
prints for your review. During that time, we will also construct
a foam-lined traveling case for the shipping and protection
of the costume
Following production, Character Translations, Inc. offers
a storage and refurbishing program to keep your character
costume up to par. We can store your costume with us indefinitely.
The refurbishing program allows the costume to be shipped
directly to us following a performance We will unpack and
review the costume, make any necessary repairs, dry clean
fabric pieces and refresh the entire costume. The character
can than be repacked and shipped onto the next performance.
